Winter Park Playhouse to Present BACKWARDS IN HIGH HEELS, 8/1-23

The Winter Park Playhouse presents the Central Florida Premiere of Backwards In High Heels August 1-23, 2014. Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm, Saturday and select Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm and select Wednesday, Thursday and Friday matinees at 2:00 pm. A special "Third Thursday" performance is August 14 at 7:30 pm. The preview performance is Thursday July 31at 7:30 pm.

Conceived and developed by Lynnette Barkley and Christopher McGovern, Backwards In High Heels brings to life the remarkable story of legendary actress Ginger Rogers. This intimate musical dances its way through Ginger's life with unforgettable music, show-stopping numbers and a captivating story that chronicles her journey from hometown to Hollywood!

Directed and choreographed by Roy Alan and music directed by Christopher Leavy, this production features six talented professionals, all of whom are making their Playhouse debut. BambiEllen Fadoul is featured as Ginger Rogers, Tara Snyder as her mother, Lela, and regional favorites Daniel Longacre, Katrina Johnson, Jamie Lowe and Christoff Marse, all combine their talents to tell the story of Ginger's meteoric rise to stardom. The Playhouse trio will accompany the cast with Christopher Leavy on keyboard, Sam Forrest on percussion and Ned Wilkinson on multiple instruments.

As part of The Winter Park Playhouse's mission to keep the original American art form of musical theatre alive, we are pleased to be able to produce this musical about Gingers Rogers, the definitive Hollywood legend!" states Roy Alan, Artistic Director of The Winter Park Playhouse.

Ticket prices are: $38 evenings; $35 Senior Evenings; $28 matinees; $25 Third Thursday evening; $20 industry professionals and students 25 years and under and $18 preview performance. Student rush "$10@10" offers $10 tickets (for students 25 years and under) 10 minutes prior to a performance when seats are available.
