Theme Park Parody THE SPIELERS to Play Orlando Fringe Festival

They're going to need a bigger boat: full casting has been announced for the World Premiere of "The Spielers", an irreverent action adventure parody of theme park spieling attractions. The show will debut as part of the Orlando Fringe Festival this May and features a number of theme park spielers (past and present) amongst its cast and crew.

Described as "Goonies" meets "A Very Potter Musical" on a ride through the "Jungle Cruise", "The Spielers" is a loving send up of the classic theme park guided tour attractions of the Orlando theme parks. When the esteemed professor of the Intercontinental Explorers goes missing inside of the ancient Temple of Neptunus, it's up to a rag tag band of tour guides (or "Spielers") to rescue him and save the day. While poking fun at rides like "Great Movie Ride", "Poseidon's Fury" and "Jaws" (to name a few), the show also celebrates the tour guides who made these rides into attractions.

The company features a collection of veteran theme park performers and New York newcomers, including Henry Gibson, Maddie Hammond, Bryan Jager, Ryan Lynch, Kyle Masteller, Christopher Robinson, Dana Searing, Carly Skubick, Jeff Smith, Jonathan Speagle, and Sarah Walker.

"The Spielers" is written by Bryan Jager who, along with Brenna Hughes, also directs the production. The show will feature original music/ arrangements by Craig Long, and lighting design by Isabel Hernandez. The production will also feature an impressive roster of special effects, puppets, and animation sequences and the full creative team will be announced at a later date. The bulk of the creative team is a mix of alumni and current students from Marymount Manhattan College, and with cast member, Dana Searing, collaborated on the internet sensation, "(white) HAMILTON- An American Satire".

The production has also launched a YouTube channel of original content, and is in the middle of a crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe with a host of rewards from tickets to custom caricatures.
