The Winter Park Playhouse Spotlight Cabaret Series Features Veteran Professional Roy Alan In A Tribute To Fred Astaire

Winter Park Playhouse Artistic Director and veteran professional performer, Roy Alan, premieres his solo cabaret Astaire Way To Paradise September 21 and 22, 2016 in The Winter Park Playhouse Spotlight Cabaret Series. Playhouse Music Director, Christopher Leavy, will accompany on piano.

Mr. Alan is well-known for his incomparable ability to sing and tap dance in the style of Fred Astaire, and this cabaret evening promises a rare opportunity for patrons to experience this superb performance style up close in the intimate Playhouse lobby.

Roy Alan is a veteran performer of 50 years and has numerous Broadway, National Tour and Regional credits. Tap dancing since the age of 4, Roy grew up dancing with Patrick Swayze, tapped along with the great Tommy Tune, and performed in the Broadway cast of Pirates of Penzance with Linda Ronstadt and Kevin Kline among a host of other great musical theatre work. Roy currently is the Artistic Director of The Winter Park Playhouse where he directs and choreographs many of their professional musicals.

In his latest cabaret, Astaire Way to Paradise, Mr. Alan will premiere a special evening filled with little known facts about the career of Fred Astaire and of course, treat audiences to his well-known song and tap dancing style. The evening promises to be a one-of-a -kind tribute to the iconic star.

General Admission tickets are $20 plus a one drink minimum. Once sold out, a limited number of "Standing Room Only" tickets are available for $10. Seating is limited so advance reservations are strongly recommended. Doors open at 6:30 pm for a 7:30 pm cabaret.
