In April, The Studio Theatre Tierra del Sol (806 San Marino Drive, The Villages, FL) will continue its annual Summer Song Cycle Series with seven time Tony Award winner Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, Tell Me on a Sunday. From the composer of The Phantom of the Opera and Cats, Andrew Lloyd Webber's intimate one person musical, Tell Me on a Sunday, follows the heartfelt and comedic journey of a character known only as "Girl." Fresh from her native England, this sweet, ambitious, gullible heroine attempts to navigate life and romance in the beautiful, sometimes blistering, streets of New York City. Along the way she will learn how to love the most important person in her life, herself.
Starring in this one-woman, one-act song cycle is The Studio Theatre's Artistic Director Whitney Morse. Last season, Morse starred in Next to Normal as Diana Goodman and Cathy in The Last Five Years, but it was her role as Claire in Proof, that won her a BroadwayWorld Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Play (Professional) in 2017. Over last summer, she wowed sold-out crowds performing in Songs for a New World, the inaugural show in The Studio Theatre's Summer Song Cycle Series. This season, you may have seen Morse as Frankie in Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune. And she will be performing on April 29th in The Studio Theatre's production of internationally acclaimed White Rabbit Red Rabbit by Iranian writer Nassim Soleimanpour.
The Theatre Management and Creative Teams are composed of Artistic Director Whitney Morse, Producer Jason Goedken, Director Trevin Cooper, Set Designer Kenneth Constant, Lighting Designer Weston Corey, Assistant Lighting Designer Michael Giovinco, Costume Designer Rich Najuch, Production Manager Danielle Paccione, Company Manager Autumn Encarnacion, Stage Manager Abigale Bobb, Assistant Stage Manager/ Production Assistant Amber Sacks, as well as House Manager Grace Petty.
