Orlando Repertory Theatre (The Rep) presents The Hundred Dresses based on the book by award winning author Eleanor Estes. The 1940's beloved children's book goes from page to stage on March 20th and continues through April 5th.

The Hundred Dresses follows Wanda Petronski, the new girl in room 13, who wears the same faded blue dress to school every day, but insists that she has a hundred bright, shiny new ones at home. As Wanda's story unfolds, her classmates learn the secret of the hundred dresses and with it, a lesson in tolerance, in taking responsibility and in living with the consequences of our actions. The Hundred Dresses focuses on the difficult issue of bullying and how mistreating someone because he or she is different from oneself brings as much harm to the bully as to the victim.

The Hundred Dresses is presented as part of The REP's Sideways Series, which is an approach to new or lesser-known plays for young audiences that pose challenging questions and themes, or are unique in structure. These plays are designed to stimulate conversation between young people and adults about important issues in their lives. With that in mind, the REP will be giving back to the Central Florida community with a clothing drive to benefit the Mustard Seed Furniture and Clothing Bank of Central Florida. We hope that patrons will help us give back during this great time of need and bring their unwanted clothing to any production of The Hundred Dresses. More information about Mustard Seed Furniture and Clothing Bank of Central Florida can be found at www.mustardseedfla.org

This production is made possible by the generous support of Darden Restaurants Foundation. Tickets are $17 for adults and $11 for children. Special student and senior rates are offered. Show times are Fridays at 7 pm. Saturdays at 2 pm and 7 pm and Sundays at 2 pm For more information contact the Orlando Repertory Theatre box office at (407)- 896-7665 ext: 1 or visit us at www.orlandorep.com.
