SLEEPING BEAUTY Opens Orlando Shakespeare Theater's 25th Anniversary Season

Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF (http://orlandoshakes.org) opens its 2013-2014 Theater for Young Audiences Series (TYA) with a World Premiere adaptation of Sleeping Beauty, written by BranDon Roberts. Complete with a brave prince, a beautiful princess, and a magical kiss, this quirky retelling of Sleeping Beauty will introduce the classic fairy tale to a new generation of kids and families. Recommended for families with children ages 4 and older, Sleeping Beauty will be on the Goldman Stage from June 20 - July 29, 2013 with preview performances on June 18 and June 19.

BranDon Roberts' writing credits include Orlando Shakespeare Theater's Cinderella, the Barter Theatre's Little Red Riding Hood, projects for Odd-o-T's Entertainment, and Sport, Snack, Sleigh, Splash, and Shhhh!, all for PB&J Theatre Factory where he also serves as Artistic Director. As an actor, he has appeared in past Orlando Shakes productions including The 39 Steps, Cymbeline, Chaps! A Jingle Jangle Christmas, and Kiss Me, Kate, as well as TYA shows Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Peter Rabbit, and CinderellA. Roberts is currently starring in Laughter on the 23rd Floor at Mad Cow Theatre.
