Rob Stack, Andrea Canny & More Set for SPANK! THE FIFTY SHADES Parody at The Abbey

Casting has been announced for the Orlando premiere of SPANK! The Fifty Shades Parody, playing at The Abbey in downtown Orlando January 29 through March 23.

SPANK! The Fifty Shades Parody is the hilarious new musical that brings the naughty fun of the best-selling book to life. This new imagining of the characters comes to life in sharp-witted comedy, musical numbers, sexy striptease performances from the leading hunk, plus lots of surprises!

Rob Stack will play the role of hunky billionaire Hugh. His favorite roles include Brad Majors in The Rocky Horror Show, Jackson in Pump Boys and Dinettes, Tony in The Boyfriend, Perchik in Fiddler on the Roof and Lewis in Pippin. Rob can currently be seen in Disney's Finding Nemo: The Musical at Animal Kingdom. He has also been seen as Gaston in Disney's Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage and Jim Handy in The Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue. Rob has a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from the University of Central Florida.

Playing the role of author EBJ will be Andrea Canny, a native of Cincinnati who has been in the entertainment business for more than 28 years. She opened the Beauty and the Beast, Live On Stage show in the role of Belle at Disney's MGM Studios in 1991, and has performed with such musical theatre and television greats as Jerry Orbach, Lea Salonga, Davis Gaines, Robby Benson, Betty White, and Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Her Orlando credits include such Orlando Philharmonic productions as Guys and Dolls (Miss Adelaide), Carousel (Nettie Fowler), and How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying (Miss Jones). Other local credits include Lizzie Borden in Lizzie Borden and Belle/Little Mermaid/Snow White in DISENCHANTED!

The role of innocent Tasha will be portrayed by Alice Rix. Alice is a newly minted University of Florida alumnae, where she formally studied anthropology and informally honed her skills in dance, music and acting. She was featured as Wendy in the Vam York Theatre's production of Peter Pan, among other credits throughout her time in school.

Jose Rosario, Jr. will understudy the role of Hugh. His most recent role was a Guest Entertainer Singer/Dancer for the Inaugural Season of Princess Cruise's newest ship, The Royal Princess. Jose was also part of the opening cast for the Universal Studios Singapore Parks and Shows, touring Southeast Asia, was a Walt Disney World Resort Singer and Studio Recorder and a singer/dancer at Universal Studios.

Understudying the roles of EBJ and Tasha is Sarah Hester Ross. She was last seen as Jen on the national tour of The D*Word - A Musical. Sarah holds a B.A. in Vocal Performance and a minor in Electronic Music from Southeastern University. Other credits include: The Paperbag Princess (Mary) at the Orlando Repertory Theatre, RENT (Maureen), The Last Five Years (Cathy), The Producers (Ulla), Edges (Woman 1), The Scarlet Pimpernel (Marguerite St. Just), Jekyll and Hyde (Lucy), Bye, Bye, Birdie! (Kim), and Footloose (Urleen).

General admission tickets for SPANK! are $40. Table seating is available for $50 and include a table and a complimentary glass of wine. VIP tickets are also available for $75 and include upfront table seating, a complimentary glass of wine, VIP lounge access, a cast meet & greet and a signed poster from the cast.
