In continuation of the mission to "inspire wellness in every life" and its award-winning programming, the Dr. Phillips Center Florida Hospital School of the Arts announces a partnership with Pilobolus@Play, a residency of the internationally acclaimed troupe of innovative artists, offering a weeklong series of movement workshops for participants from Mayflower Community Center, Dr. Phillips High School and OCA. An additional master class will take place with pre-professionals from Valencia College. The program will take place February 8 through 12, benefiting seniors, special needs individuals, teenagers and budding artists alike.

"Through the Pilobolus@Play residency, we can bring together a diverse group of people with diverse needs to discover how movement can impact our health and how dance can enhance communication," said Dana Brazil, director of education at the Dr. Phillips Center.

Taught by Pilobolus artists Matt Del Rosario and Emily Milam Kent, the intensive will consist of 60 - 90 minute daily sessions with each group, immersing participants in the process of creating collaboratively and exploring new ways of using the human body as a graphic and expressive medium. The week will culminate in a performance for family and friends on Friday, February 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center. A limited number of free tickets to the performance will be made available to the public. To RSVP, please email jennifer.russo@drphillipscenter.org.

"We are excited to bring Pilobolus back to the Dr. Phillips Center this year for this fantastic residency," said Kathy Ramsberger, president and CEO of Dr. Phillips Center. "Our partnership with Florida Hospital invites this type of exploration between arts and wellness."

The unique experience is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Winter Park Health Foundation.
