Dr. Phillips Center Florida Hospital School of the Arts announces a first-class roster of theater professionals set to instruct the "Take it from the Top" summer camp workshop alongside the program's creator and Broadway veteran Paul Canaan (Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Miss Saigon). The list of teaching artists includes Alysha Umphress (On the Town, American Idiot, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever), Astaire Award nominee Nick Adams (Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Wicked, La Cage Aux Folles), director/choreographer and performer Carlos Encinias (Gateway Playhouse, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera), director/choreographer Connor Gallagher (Disney's Tangled, Goodspeed Opera House, Bucks County Playhouse) and casting director Justin Huff, CSA of Telsey + Company.

"Take it from the Top" is a professional Broadway workshop, co-founded and designed by Canaan and Tony Award-nominee Laura Bell Bundy (Legally Blonde, Hairspray). The workshop is a unique opportunity for students to spend the week learning from a talented team of experienced Broadway professionals and casting directors.

Students explore the "triple threat" performing arts disciplines of music, dance and theater. For those interested in pursuing a career in the theater, this is a chance to explore the process of casting, auditions, rehearsals and performance and network with professionals in the industry. A final recital will showcase the work the students have done for an invited audience of family and friends.

"Take it from the Top" has two sessions:

June 13 - 17, 2016: Broadway Intensive Workshop, ages 10-19. A final recital will showcase the work students have done for an audience of family and friends on June 17 in the Walt Disney Theater.

June 18 - 19, 2016: Adult Intensive Workshop, ages 19+.

Registration for camps and workshops is currently open. Tuition for workshops for pre-teens ages 10 - 13 and teens ages 14-19 is $425. Tuition for the adult intensive workshop (ages 19+) is $150. Early registration continues through May 15, 2016. A $25 late registration fee is applied to registration beginning May 16, 2016.
