Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF celebrates 26 seasons with its 2014-2015 Season Gala on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. The glittering celebration features mouth-watering food and wine tastings, first-rate entertainment, and fabulous silent and live auction items. Remaining tickets range from $150 - $200 per person, and may be purchased by calling the Box Office at (407) 447-1700 ext. 1 or in person inside the John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center, 812 East Rollins Street.
The annual event begins with an elegant stationed dinner at the beautiful Lowndes Shakespeare Center, accompanied by music from the award-winning UCF Jazz Chambers and a silent auction featuring dream vacations, weekend getaways, and exclusive packages from Central Florida's leading businesses. Among the priceless silent auction items is a luxurious escape to San Francisco and Sonoma complete with round-trip airfare for two, a relaxing four-night hotel stay, and VIP winery tours and tastings.
"The Gala is our opportunity to celebrate not only the Theater's 26th Season, but also our generous donors and guests," said Director of Development Marisa Worley. "The Les Mis-themed atmosphere, extraordinary auction items, and fabulous tasting partners will make this a night you won't forget."
The evening continues in the Margeson Theater with a thrilling live auction and paddle raise. Live auction prizes include a deluxe safari for two to the world renowned Kapama Game Reserve, winner of the 2014 Tripadvisor Award for Excellence. The winner of this exotic and iconic safari experience will enjoy an 8-day/7-night accommodation, complimentary dining and excursions, and access to a private tour guide.
Following the live auction, guests will be treated to selections from Orlando Shakespeare Theater's highly anticipated musical, LES MISERABLES, featuring a leading cast of Broadway veterans, including Davis Gaines as Police Inspector Javert. The event concludes with complimentary coffee, dessert, and a champagne toast.
Gala tasting partners include Arthur's Catering, Bubbalou's Bodacious BBQ, Hillstone Restaurant Group, Hyatt Regency Orlando, Rosen Centre Hotel, and Rosen Shingle Creek. Dessert and coffee provided by Barnie's Coffee Kitchen and Seasons 52. Cocktails provided by Winter Park Distillery, with additional beverages by City Beverages, Terlato Wines International, and Onli Beverages.
