The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra announces its 25th Anniversary Gala Celebration, featuring a kaleidoscope of live performances highlighting music and programs of the Orlando Philharmonic, an elegant cocktail hour, a fabulous three-course dinner, a live auction, and dancing at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5 at the Hilton Orlando, 6001 Destination Parkway, Orlando. Attire is Black Tie.

Live performances at the Gala by the Orlando Philharmonic and Music Director Eric Jacobsen include Bernstein's Overture to Candide, Brahms' Hungarian Dance No. 5, select movements from Bach's Double Violin Concerto, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5. Guest artists performing at the Gala include Philharmonic Concertmaster Rimma Bergeron-Langlois, violinist Colin Jacobsen, violin prodigy and Orlando native Leah Flynn, and singer Michael Andrew.

Tickets to the Gala Celebration are $1,000 and also include a ticket in the best available seating to the 25th Anniversary Concert with the world's most celebrated cellist, Yo-Yo Ma, at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8 at the Bob Carr Theater, 401 W. Livingston Street, Orlando. This performance is Yo-Yo Ma's first in Central Florida and will also feature acclaimed violinist Colin Jacobsen performing the Brahms' Double Concerto with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Music Director Eric Jacobsen. The concert program also includes Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks by Richard Strauss, an orchestral showpiece that engages the full instrumental forces of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. Individual tickets to the gala concert-only are also available by visiting orlandophil.org

The 25th Anniversary Gala is a fund-raising event with a goal of raising more than $600,000 to support the orchestra. Proceeds will be invested in the programming of the Orlando Philharmonic, helping the organization to continue to enrich the community and inspire audiences through the power of live music.

"This is a pivotal moment in the history of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra," said Christopher Barton, executive director. "Our 25th Anniversary Gala will honor our past accomplishments and set the stage for the next quarter-century for our organization and community. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our patrons, sponsors, and all who have helped the Philharmonic reach this exciting milestone."
