Orlando Fringe Launches New Internship Program

The Orlando Fringe announced today that are launching a brand new internship program for undergraduate and graduate students in the Orlando area. The non-profit organization that presents the annual Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival is looking for bright and spirited individuals attending any college in the Orlando area to become interns for the spring semester.


The vision of the Orlando Fringe Internship Initiative is to create a learning environment and practicum setting for students interested in nonprofit administration and theater/entertainment production. During the semester, interns will receive hands-on training in all aspects of the Orlando Fringe and assist in the operation of the 2017 Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival from May 16-29th.


Interns will have the opportunity to shadow and work in multiple areas of Fringe such as: Theatre Production, Fringe Teens, Kids Fringe, Public Relations, Administration, Volunteer Coordination, Nonprofit Development, and Outdoor Events Coordination.The Orlando Fringe Internship Initiative will achieve the following:

  • An over encompassing knowledge of how Orlando Fringe operates, both as a nonprofit and as a theater production organization.
  • A portfolio of material to present to any higher education facility to represent the skills accumulated at the Orlando Fringe
  • Increased contact with the network of local and international Fringe artists.


The internship will begin in late January 2017and will conclude on May 30, 2017 and can be counted towards college credit. Interested individuals are being asked to submit their résumé and cover letter to the attention of Alexander Hehr at internship@orlandofringe.org. The deadline for application submissions is December 31, 2016.
