Southern Winds Theater presents a one man presentation of A Christmas Carol written and performed by David A. McElroy. Mr. McElroy adapted for the stage and performs all 37 different characters. A Christmas Carol is directed by Marylin McGinnis with Stage Management by Bonnie Sprung.
It is 1843. Ebenezer Scrooge has no use for Christmas, feeling it's a waste of time and money. Scrooge hates Christmas cheer, warm wishes and most of all, the spirit of giving. He cares for no one, and no one cares for him. Then, on a foggy, cold Christmas Eve night, Scrooge encounters the frightening presence of his dead partner, Jacob Marley, who forecasts three ghostly visits. The miser relives his past, looks at the present and is horrified by the future. In this tour de force performance, McElroy brings to wondrous life all of the characters of the Charles Dickens' classic, including: Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchit, Marley, the Three Ghosts and Ebenezer Scrooge. He also interacts with over 60 sound cues, creating and immersive experience for the audience and setting the stage for this classic tale. This solo interpretation, with music and fun, is for both adults and children (7 years and up), which will delight and dazzle the audience!
