Husband and wife duo Over the Rhine and Albert Cummings are set for upcoming performances at the Lyric Theatre. Over the Rhine will perform on April 13th with Albert Cummings performing the following evening on April 14th.

The southern Ohio-based husband-and-wife team of pianist/guitarist/bassist Linford Detweiler and vocalist/guitarist Karin Bergquist are back to grace the historic Lyric stage once again.

Their new studio album, The Long Surrender is something rare and wondrous — an intimate epic. The fan-funded record was released on OtR’s own Great Speckled Dog label (named after the couple’s Great Dane, Elroy). It’s the bountiful result of a collaboration between the couple and producer Joe Henry.

Albert Cummings returns to rock the house with his searing Stratocaster licks and crowd-pleasing, high energy blues. Cummings, the 2008 BluesWax Blues Artist of the Year, never fails to deliver a powerful performance. Whether he’s covering a classic like Merle Haggard’s “Working Man Blues” or putting across one of his own incredibly original tunes, Cummings brings the crowd to its feet with his emotional vocals and stunning guitar pyrotechnics.

Tickets for both events are on sale to members only now. Tickets go on sale for the public on February 24th.
