Out of the Apple Orchard, a new play based on the award-winning book of the same name, makes its Orlando premiere at the Orlando Repertory Theatre this holiday season, playing December 19 through 22. Inspired by Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, Out of the Apple Orchard is a beautiful story of forgiveness, hunger, healing, and new beginnings that's the perfect holiday offering for the whole family.
Out of the Apple Orchard tells the story of a Jewish immigrant family in 1910 that moves from the Lower East Side of New York City to a hamlet in the Catskills. Food and resources being scarce, 12 year-old Adam steals apples from a nearby farmer's orchard, and from there unfolds an unforgettable story touching on themes of compassion, forgiveness and new beginnings.
The Orlando premiere of Out of the Apple Orchard features a triple award-winning team of author Yvonne David, playwright Ellen W. Kaplan and director Kenny Howard. The play stars Jeremy Kleckner, Sara Jones, Tommy Wooten, Doug Bowser, Jessica Hoehn, Ron Miles, Karen Ann, Coletyn Hentz, Josh Lefkowitz, Bayley Steinwher, Maggie Connor, Hendrix Varney and Jose Navarro.
