Generation Productions announces the cast for the upcoming production of FIRST DATE at The Abbey.
The cast will be led by Kellie Rhianne (Celeste and the Banshees at Universal Studios) as cool girl Casey and Michael Knight (Anne Frankenstein, Foreplay: Birth of our Nation) as the tightly wound Aaron.
Supporting cast includes Molly Schoolmeester, Jerry Jobe, Jr., Blake Aburn, Alexandria Grace Williams, and Jason Blackwater. Immersive ensemble includes Theresa Hanson, Jordan Little, Mari Devi Haze, and Chelsea Hupalowsky.
FIRST DATE will be directed by Kenny Howard, featuring a live band and music direction by John DeHaas (Cabaret, Heathers, Bat Boy), choreography by Theresa Hanson, and set by Daniel Cooksley.
When blind date newbie Aaron is set up with serial dater Casey, a casual drink turns into a hilarious dinner served with Google background checks, fake emergency phone calls and a fair share of surprises in the form of imaginary visits from exes, protective parents and more, who sing and dance them through it all. Can the mismatched pair turn what could be a dining disaster into something special before the check arrives? FIRST DATE is written by Austin Winsberg, with music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner.
"For this production, The Abbey will be the restaurant in which the show takes place, providing a unique, immersive experience for the audience," says director Kenny Howard. "The audience will be seated in and around the action, with optional, fun participation segments."
