From sparkling gowns and handsome tuxedoes to limousines, the Maltz Jupiter Theatre's glamorous, long-awaited 10 Event Gala is almost here.
This unique, never-to-be-repeated gala will take place Feb. 23 (the week of the Theatre's anniversary) and commemorate the Theatre's past 10 seasons of extraordinary success. The event will be led by two board members: honorary producer Roe Green and chairman Roberta E. Golub. Tickets are now completely sold out.
The black-tie optional anniversary affair will take place in a glittering tent outside of the Theatre, with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres accompanied by a classical guitarist. Then, curtains will part, revealing a string quartet and a large ballroom set for a gourmet formal dinner, catered by Sandy James Fine Food and Productions. The ballroom will be adorned in voluminous feathers and the colors of silver, white and the "Maltz blue" that has made the Theatre so famous.
"The elegant ballroom will feature stunning crystal chandeliers, sequined linens and spectacular cuisine, with air conditioning and valet parking," said Pam Dyar, the Theatre's development associate. "More than 550 guests will join us to enjoy this momentous occasion and celebrate our 10th anniversary season."
Following dinner, guests will enjoy a magnificent 90-minute retrospective multimedia presentation produced by the Theatre's producing artistic director, Andrew Kato, showcasing a full 14-piece orchestra and more than 20 stars of the Theatre's past hit productions. The presentation will be followed by dancing and an array of delicious desserts.
Coordination for the event has taken a year of planning, as the logistics to transport and host all of the visiting artists has been immense. The performers will be flown in from across the country and stay at The Jupiter Beach Resort, with a special gift upon arrival and catered meals from Evo Italian and Jupiter Island Grill. A special breakfast the next morning will be hosted by longtime Theatre supporter Francine Bizar.
"The list of performers is a well-kept secret, and I can promise that it will be a stunning, unforgettable evening, remembered for many years to come," Kato said. "We'd like to thank everyone who has helped the Theatre reach this milestone, and those who will join us for the next decade of greatness."
A special thank you to the event's 10 Grand Benefactors: the Bebe Foundation, Joan and Allen Bildner, Roberta and Harvey Golub, Myra Hoffstein, Peggy and Rick Katz, Chris Kritikos, Pattie and Nate Light, Bonnie Osher, Diane and James E. Perrella and PNC.
