Mad Cow Theatre is delighted to announce the continuation of our Teatro Español program with a staged reading of Federico García Lorca's classic Bodas de Sangre (Blood Wedding). Bodas de Sangre will be presented on Jan. 26 and 27, 2016 in the Harriett Theatre at Mad Cow Theatre in downtown Orlando.
Following last year's reading of La Zapatera Prodigiosa, Mad Cow is proud to present a second work by Spanish dramatist Federico García Lorca's . A well-loved classic written in 1932, Bodas de Sangre is a poetic tragedy about lost love.
Mad Cow's Teatro Español program works to bridge theatre and the Spanish Language through a series of free classes, advanced workshops, and dramatic readings of renowned Spanish playwrights. Teatro Español is supported by United Arts of Central Florida, host of
power2give.org/centralflorida and the collaborative Campaign for the Arts.
Bodas de Sangre is presented entirely in Spanish and directed by Eliana Stratico.
Eliana Stratico received her degree of Actríz Nacional (BA in acting) from the Instituto Universitario Nacional del Arte of Argentina and her Master of Education degree from Northeastern University. Since 1996 she has been active as an actress, director, playwright, and acting teacher, in Buenos Aires and Boston. She has experience teaching undergraduate level Spanish classes and developing Spanish through the arts curriculums from middle school to professional development workshops for Spanish teachers and lecturers.
