Mad Cow Theatre Presents THE SECRET GARDEN

Mad Cow Theatre is delighted to announce the cast and creative team for the poignant musical The Secret Garden, with book and lyrics by Marsha Norman and music by Lucy Simon, based on the 1911 classic novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The Secret Garden will open Nov. 20, 2015 in the Harriett Theatre at Mad Cow Theatre in downtown Orlando.

A musical for the whole family, The Secret Garden brings to life a girl's coming of age in the English countryside. After a cholera outbreak leaves 10-year-old Mary Lennox orphaned in India, she is sent to Yorkshire to live with an estranged uncle who still grieves the death of his wife. While Mary navigates the wintry landscape of her new home and family, she encounters quiet mysteries hidden within her uncle's estate. A hidden garden and ghostly spirits guide Mary on her journey of self-discovery. Winner of the 1991 Tony Award for best book of a musical, The Secret Garden is a magical musical adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett's beloved 1911 novel.

The cast of The Secret Garden features Sara Catherine Barnes (The Light in the Piazza) as Martha, Rachel Carreras as Ayah, Kristoffer Cleto as Fakir, Luis Gabriel Diaz as Lieutenant Shaw, Terry Farley as Lieutenant Peter Wright, Kennedy Joy Foristall (The Philadelphia Story) as Mary Lennox, Will Gavigan as Colin Craven, Glenn Gover* (The Explorers Club) as Ben Weatherstaff, Heather Kopp* as Lily Craven (The Who's Tommy), Steven Lane* (Photograph 51) as Dr. Neville Craven, Tracy Leake as Mrs. Medlock, Crystal Lizardo as Mrs. Winthrope, Whitney Morse as Mrs. Holmes, Zach Nadolski* (Sweeney Todd in collaboration with the Orlando Philharmonic) as Archibald Craven, Cole NeSmith (James Joyce's The Dead) as Dickon, Janine Papin (James Joyce's The Dead) as Mrs. Shelley, John Hamilton Rice (You Can't Take It With You) as Major Shelley/Holmes, Bert Rodriguez* as Captain Albert Lennox, Rachel Whittington (James Joyce's The Dead) as Alice, and Allyssa Yost (Sunday in the Park with George) as Rose Lennox.

Aradhana Tiwari (Tribes, The Philadelphia Story), who is resident director at Mad Cow Theatre, directs The Secret Garden.

Philip King is musical director, Holly Harris is choreographer, scenic design is by Rebecca Pancoast, lighting design is by Austin K. Butler, sound design is by Waylon Lemasters, costume design is by Winfield Murdock, and props are by Lisa Buck.

The Secret Garden runs from Nov. 20-Dec. 20, 2015 in the Harriett Theatre at Mad Cow Theatre, 54 West Church Street (second floor) in downtown Orlando (Click here for directions). All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and at 2:30 p.m. on Sundays.

Opening Night is Friday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. This performance will be followed by Mad Cow's traditional champagne reception in the lobby.

Preview Performances are Nov. 18 & Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m.

Discount Monday performances will be held Nov. 30 and Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m.

A Saturday matinee is being added for each show this season. The Saturday matinee for You Can't Take It With You will be at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 28. All drinks will be half price at the bar.

Talkbacks take place after each Thursday and Sunday performance. Talkbacks are free to audience members. The public may attend at no extra cost.

Adult tickets are $38-$45. Preview tickets are $15. Monday tickets are $18-$25. Tickets are available online at madcowtheatre.com or by calling the Mad Cow Theatre box office at 407-297-8788 ext. 1.

Other discounts for students and active military apply. More information is available online on our Savings Programs page All tickets are subject to a $2 facility fee.
Students receive a $7 discount with ID.
Active Military receive a $10 discount with ID.
Seniors 65+ receive a $3 discount.
Group discounts are available for parties of 10 or more.
Student Groups of 10 or more are eligible for a 50% discount on full-price tickets.
