Mad Cow Theatre Presents LEGACY OF LIGHT, 7/28 - 8/27

Mad Cow Theatre announces LEGACY OF LIGHT, playing July 28 through August 27, 2011, the final show in it's intimate Stage Left in it's 14th season.

Two brilliant women, centuries apart, push the boundaries of science while grappling with motherhood in this theatrically adventurous comedy.

Physicist Émilie du Châtelet, lover of both the famous French philosopher Voltaire and a young poet, worries about her fate after she unexpectedly becomes pregnant. Driven by fear and ambition, she races to publish her theories based on Sir Isaac Newton's Laws of Motion. Linked together by scientific legacy and maternal instincts, accomplished astrophysicist Olivia and her husband, Peter, want to conceive but cannot. Olivia's attention turns to her new "child," a planet she's discovered in the midst of hiring a quirky and freespirited surrogate. This touching and whimsical tale leaves us asking: Does the birth of a child ultimately mean as much to the world as the birth of an idea?

Director Denise Gillman (Eurydice, Tally's Folly) makes her a return to Mad Cow Theatre. The cast includes Heather Charles, Becky Eck, Garrett Jurss, Steven Lane, Lexi Langs, and Steven Lima.

The creative team includes William Elliott as Scenic Designer, Erin Miner as Lighting Designer, Grayson Tate as Costume Designer, and Kurt Wagner as Sound Designer, Stephan Jones as Fight Choreographer, Ginny Kopf as Dialect Coach, Allison Sokol as Assistant to the Director, and Devin O'Neill as Assistant to the Scenic Designer.

Community Giving Night is Thursday, August 4. 20% of individual ticket sales for this night will benefit Get PUMPed.
Special Industry Night performances on Monday, August 8 and Monday, August 22 at 7:30p. All tickets for these performances are $15.
