Mad Cow Announces Cast Of A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE ImageMad Cow Theatre is thrilled to announce the cast and creative team of Arthur Miller's stunning drama A View from the Bridge, which will take the Harriett stage March 23, 2018 as the sixth production of Mad Cow Theatre's Season 21.

A View from the Bridge is an American tragedy - Italian in heritage, Greek in scale. A working-class Italian-American couple watches over their niece's coming of age, but the arrival of immigrant cousins causes tensions to rise. Strained by clashing cultures and sexual identities, the friction between characters turns violent. First staged in 1955, shortly after Arthur Millers' public defiance of McCarthyism, this play debates heritage, patriarchy, and the American dream. A View from the Bridge is a time capsule that echoes today's cultural climate.

"An American classic, A View From The Bridge is a true thriller with life and death stakes," says Mitzi Maxwell, Mad Cow's executive director. "Arthur Miller, the playwright who created Death of a Salesman, The Crucible and All My Sons, gives us the story of a Brooklyn longshoreman obsessed with his 17-year-old niece and jealous over her love of an immigrant. The play's power comes from the aching gap between simple words and vast and complex feelings. If you love classic theatre, don't miss this production."

Brian Brightman* (Three Sisters, The God Game, My Name is Asher Lev) will play Eddie Carbone, and Rachel Comeau (Three Sisters) will play Catherine. Other cast members, all of them familiar to Mad Cow audiences, include Sara Oliva* (My Name is Asher Lev), Stephen Lima (Enchanted April, Life is a Dream, The Caretaker), Robert Johnston* (Picasso at the Lapin Agile, You Can't Take It With You, The History Boys), Glenn Gover* (Picasso at the Lapin Agile, The Explorer's Club, The Secret Garden), Tommy Keesling (Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Three Sisters, Art), and Susi Rivera (The Love of Don Perlimplin and Belisa in the Garden, Prohibido, Yerma).

Director Tony Simotes** (The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, Born Yesterday, Fences) returns to Mad Cow and is joined by set designer Eric Craft (The Brothers Size), lighting designer Erin Miner (The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, Picasso at the Lapin Agile), stage manager Kristin Gdula*, sound designer Alex Mason (Silent Sky, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife) and costume designer Janine Papin (Silent Sky, Born Yesterday).
