Mad Cow Theatre is thrilled to announce the cast and creative team of Charles Busch's mid-life-crisis comedy The Tale of The Allergist's Wife, which will take the Harriett stage Jan. 19, 2018 as the fourth mainstage production of Mad Cow Theatre's Season 21.
A contemporary New York comedy, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife is fast, bright, and unapologetic. Marjory Taub's mid-life crisis - a crisis of epic proportions - leads her away from an unsatisfyingly opulent life and into chaos when an old friend comes to town. Choosing the right chandelier for her living room falls by the wayside, and marriages, sex, and ennui all go on hilarious trial.
"What a great big comedy The Tale of the Allergist's Wife is!" says Mitzi Maxwell, Executive Director of Mad Cow Theatre. "This very funny play delivers brilliantly, with wall-to-wall laughs. You'll experience a wonderful blend of New York and Jewish humor telling it like it is, from the heart, without filter. "
At Mad Cow,
Laura Hodos* (1776, Sweeney Todd, The Light in the Piazza),
Cynthia Beckert* (Grounded, The God Game), and Matt Horohoe* (Animal Crackers, Death of a Salesman, Clybourne Park) will be joined by Kate Thomas-Denson (Born Yesterday) and Daniel Navarro in his Mad Cow debut.
Director
Tony Simotes** (Born Yesterday, Fences, The God Game, Painting Churches) returns to Mad Cow and is joined by scenic designer
Robert F. Wolin*** (Born Yesterday, Fences, Three Sisters, Pygmalion, 1776), lighting designer Erin Miner (Picasso at the Lapin Agile), sound designer Daniel Meyer (Born Yesterday, Grounded) and costume designer Bailee Booser (Big River).
