MISS SAIGON opens at the Manatee Players on March 28 and runs through April 14! This will be the first show performed in the new Manatee Performing Arts Center.
Performances are Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets range from $26-$36 including facility fee for adults, $15 including facility fee for teachers and $13 including facility fee for students. All performances are at the Manatee Performing Arts Center at 502 3rd Avenue West in downtown Bradenton.
MISS SAIGON is a musical by Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil, with lyrics by Boublil and Richard Maltby, Jr. It is based on Giacomo Puccini's opera MADAME BUTTERFLY, and similarly tells the tragic tale of a doomed romance involving an Asian woman abandoned by her American lover.
Holly Rizzo and William Masuck as 'Kim' and 'Chris' lead a cast of 31. Also featured are Brian Chunn as 'John', Omar Montes as 'The Engineer' and Channing Weir as 'Ellen'. The large cast also includes Ian Weir, Sarah Cassidy, Johana Davilla, Tahlia Byers, Sabrina Bowen, Kaitlin Folsom, Lee-En Chung, Corinne Woodland, Allyson Robertson, Tara Collandra, Katie Zanders, Kathryn Sandberg, John Andruzzi, Joseph Rebella, Alex Beach, William Hellem-Brusso, Jason Ellis, Brandon Jamora, Will Dixon, Zachary Hlavac, Steven Drake, Paul Hernandez, Todd Keefe and John Clewis. At certain performances, the role of 'Ellen' will be played by Wendy James.
The show is being directed and choreographed by Rick Kerby with Aaron Cassette as musical director.
