The award-winning Maltz Jupiter Theatre celebrates the style and fashion of unforgettable moments from nine seasons of the Theatre's hit shows with an exhibit of retrospective costumes, slated for April 16-29 at the Grand Court in The Gardens Mall.

The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular mall hours: Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. Residents and visitors are invited to experience this extraordinary collection that represents the finest costumes and most elaborate dresses ever brought to the stage.

"The rich and exciting history of costume design personifies the talents and inspiration of iconic fashion designers," said Michele Jacobs, corporate director of marketing and operations for The Forbes Company, owner of The Gardens Mall. "We invite the entire community to share an insider's tour of dazzling costumes from beloved theatrical performances, and to join us in supporting the prestigious Maltz Jupiter Theatre's anniversary year."

The Theatre has partnered with The Gardens Mall and Costume World to produce this extraordinary retrospective exhibit.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to launch our 10th anniversary season and celebrate with the entire community," said the Theatre's producing artistic director, Andrew Kato. "This is a chance for people to experience an interactive, behind-the-scenes costume tour while visiting The Gardens Mall."

The two-week exhibit will showcase a collection of original costumes from more than 35 of the Theatre's hit shows, including The Sound of Music, Evita, La Cage Aux Folles, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Crazy for You. It will also include a sneak peek at 10 costumes for the Theatre's upcoming 2012/2013 season, featuring Amadeus, The Music Man, Singin' in the Rain, Doubt and Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Original Broadway costumes can only be found at Costume World, which is why the Theatre Partners with them when needs are specific – such as the spectacular white ball gown from Evita or the unforgettable, hot-pink numbers donned by the follies girls in Crazy for You. With multiple locations across the country, Costume World's collections include The Broadway Collection, a 30,000-square-foot exhibition in Pompano Beach that was recently featured on the Today show.

"We are very excited to be partnering with the Maltz Jupiter Theatre and The Gardens Mall on this venture," said Marilynn Wick, CEO of Costume World. "In addition to celebrating the Theatre's upcoming 10th anniversary season, this is a celebration of more than 100 years of authentic Broadway costume design history."

In addition, through a partnership with The Gardens Mall, the Theatre will host an exclusive, intimate VIP cocktail reception, dinner, and unveiling of the exhibit in the Grand Court on April 15 at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature a candlelight dinner, string quartet, guitarist, performances by young stars from the theatre's Paul and Sandra Goldner Conservatory of Performing Arts and a private peek at the exhibit before it opens to the public.

"This exhibit will engage local residents and implement the theatre's mission of entertaining, educating, and inspiring our community," said Kathy Berman, the Theatre's director of development. "We are extremely excited to be hosting our kickoff dinner and costume retrospective display at such an extraordinary venue as The Gardens Mall. We invite everyone in the community to come out and be dazzled by this incredible experience."
