The 6th season of the Bay Street Players Second Stage opens September 30 with God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza. This play won both the Laurence Olivier Award and Tony Award for Best New Play in 2009.
After a playground altercation between their sons, two couples meet to discuss the problem over appetizers. At first diplomatic niceties are observed, but soon the gloves come off and the evening devolves into a laugh-out-loud evening the New Yorker calls “ninety minutes of sustained mayhem.”
Featured in the play are Stephen Lima and Sara Lee Dobbs as Alan and Annette and James Simpson and Chasteen Mullins as Michael and Veronica. The production is directed by Joel Warren.
God of Carnage is being presented on September 30, October 7 & 14 at 7:30 pm at the Historic 1922 State Theatre located at 109 North Bay Street in Downtown Eustis. Tickets are $12 and $7 for students. Content Advisory: contains strong adult language and mature themes. For reservations call 352-357-7777 or visit www.baystreetplayers.org.
