Mad Cow Theatre presents Ain't Misbehavin' by Murray Horwitz and Richard Maltby, Jr. featuring the music of Fats Waller. Ain't Misbehavin' is set to open tonight, June 5, 2015 in The Harriett Theatre as part of Season 18.
Throw on your dancing shoes and grab a drink as we travel back to the Manhattan nightclubs of the 20s and 30s. This rowdy musical revue celebrates the golden age of swing known as the Harlem Renaissance. Inspired by the music of jazz pianist Fats Waller, five of the hottest voices in Harlem bring down the house with explosive songs that perfectly capture the era's obsession with pleasure and play. Winner of the 1978 Tony Award for Best Musical, Ain't Misbehavin' is a tribute to the musicians that defined a generation and took the nation by storm.
The cast of Ain't Misbehavin' features Shauna Leigh Alexander as Armelia in her Mad Cow debut, Clinton Harris as Andre (Hair, The Mountaintop), Jasmine "Mimi" Lattimore as Charlaine (Hair), Shonn McCloud as Ken (Dreamgirls), and Monique Midgette as Nell also in her Mad Cow debut.
Direction is by Juan Cantu, music direction by Pati Sayers, choreography by Cynthia Wilson, set design by William Elliott, lighting design by Joe Oshry, and costume design by Coco Mayer.
Ain't Misbehavin' runs from tonight, June 5 - July 5, 2015 in The Harriett Theatre at Mad Cow Theatre, 54 West Church Street (Second Floor) in downtown Orlando.
