Central Florida Community Arts (CFCArts), a leading arts nonprofit, will host a town hall-style media event entitled Re-Imagine: The Future of CFCArts to announce the launch of its new School of the Arts. This free event will take place August 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Northland Church (530 Dog Track Rd, Longwood FL 32750).
With an anchor gift from Universal Orlando Foundation and support from various private donors, over $250,000 has been raised for the School of the Arts. This new funding will expand and create a variety of innovative programs, including arts experiences for people of all ages and abilities.
"The mission of the School of the Arts is to provide a continuum of arts education and experiences for a lifetime," said Joshua Vickery, founder & executive director of CFCArts. "Our desire is to be a one-stop shop for everyone in the family. This new structure will allow us, more than ever, to continue our mission to build and serve community through the arts."
The new School of the Arts includes four main areas of arts education. The Academy offers private lessons, group classes, and workshops in all disciplines of the performing arts for all ages. Arts in Action offers arts experiences for healthy, aging adults ages 60 and over. Arts & Wellness programs offer experiences for individuals dealing with a cognitive or physical disability or illness. Outreach programs include extensive arts experiences for children and adults in under-supported communities across Central Florida.
CFCArts continues to offer a variety of performance-based programs for members, including the 310-voice Community Choir, 155-member Symphony Orchestra, a theatre program with a full season of plays and musicals, a newly-launched dance program, and various offerings for children and youth.
To RSVP for August 2, visit CFCArts.com/Reimagine or call 407-937-1800. The media, CFCArts members, donors, patrons, partner organizations, and the public are invited to attend.
