Mad Cow Theatre presents TRIBES by Nina Raine. TRIBES opens tonight, August 21, 2015 in The Zehngebot-Stonerock Theatre as the tenth and final production of Season 18. Mad Cow Theatre is thrilled to be able to offer American Sign Language interpretation for the matinee performance on August 23 as well as the evening performances on September 4 & 17.

Winner of the 2012 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, Tribes tells the story of Billy, a young deaf man with a comically dysfunctional family. As the only deaf member of his family, Billy struggles to find his place in his own home. But when he meets a young woman with deaf parents, she begins to teach Billy about a whole different type of family he never knew he had. With dark humor and heartwarming sincerity, Nina Raine's exquisite new play explores what it means to belong.

The cast of Tribes features Hannah Benitez as Ruth (James Joyce's The Dead), Britt Michael Gordon as Billy in his Mad Cow Theatre debut, Lexi Langs as Sylvia (Legacy of Light), Mark Edward Smith as Christopher (The Light in the Piazza, Death of a Salesman, Circle Mirror Transformation), Marty Stonerock as Beth (Other Desert Cities, Superior Donuts, The Seagull) and Peter Travis as Daniel (The History Boys, Cock, Mass Appeal).

Direction is by Mad Cow Theatre's resident director Aradhana Tiwari (The Philadelphia Story, Cock, I and You). Sound design by Tanner Best, set design by Rebecca Pancoast, light design by Eric Haugen, and costume design by Adrin Puente.
