Based off a Weekly World News story, the hilariously thrilling BAT BOY THE MUSICAL will be playing at the Abbey tonight, October 15, through October 31.

BAT BOY is a musical comedy/horror show about a half boy/half bat creature who is discovered in a cave near Hope Falls, West Virginia. For lack of a better solution, the local sheriff brings Bat Boy to the home of the town veterinarian where he is eventually accepted as a member of the family and taught to act like a "normal" boy by the veterinarian's wife and teenage daughter. While Bat Boy struggles to be accepted by the townspeople of Hope Falls, it isn't long before his unholy origin is revealed.

BAT BOY stars Ricky Cona (Bat Boy in Bat Boy: The Musical at the M.A.D. Theater in Tampa) as Bat Boy, Rebecca Fisher (Cabaret, Menopause the Musical) as Meredith Parker, Jennafer Newberry (The Light in the Piazza at the Mad Cow Theater) as Shelley Parker and Billy Flanagan (The Drowsy Chaperone at the Mad Cow Theater) as Dr. Thomas Parker. Ensemble consists of Amitria Fanae, Kayla Kelsay Morales, Adam McCabe, David Lee, Michael Colavolpe and Shonn McCloud.

BAT BOY premiered to rave reviews Off-Broadway in 2001. BAT BOY has since played in London'w West End and multiple regional productions around the U.S.
