What a brilliant performance and performer. I highly recommend FROM A YARDIE TO A YANKEE. A must see!" William "Mickey" Stevenson Songwriter, Producer, and Motown Records' first A&R Director "An amazing show, filled with heart, drama, happiness, and hope. "This show is a gem! A real must see!!! Sardia takes the audience on a journey from childhood in the real Jamaica, the one we never see, to the trials of being a single mom, to dreams coming true when she becomes an American citizen! Her acting skills are excellent and her characters range from loveable to horrifying, each with their own voice! Great job! Brava!" FROM A YARDIE TO A YANKEE is Sardia's own, personal story: Born into a poverty-stricken Jamaican neighborhood where crime, gangs and political revolution were the norm, Sardia had to step over corpses in the street on her way to school. Then, an unplanned pregnancy led to yet more hurdles. Sardia's engaging and unique storytelling style takes audience members on an emotional rollercoaster ride fraught with peril, pain, suffering, but also filled with humor, endearing characters, and the undeterred human spirit to survive.

Sardia Robinson most recently performed FROM A YARDIE TO A YANKEE in February for Black History Month at The University of the Pacific. She just wrapped shooting "Justice Delayed," starring as Amy Jaques Garvey, wife of controversial Black activist Marcus Garvey. You can also catch Sardia starring in "House Out of Order," a 2022 hit TV sitcom currently airing and making a splash in the Caribbean.

Solopalooza 2.022 is the third solo festival produced by Dina Morrone at Theatre West. Ten outstanding solo artists will perform their shows at the theater between May 21 and August 7, 2022. The varied productions promise to "take you to places you've never been, introduce you to colorful characters you'll be thrilled to meet, and teach you things that are sure to make you roar with laughter, shed a tear, or inspire and lift you up."
