The Rose Theater Announces 2010-2011 Season; Includes PETER PAN & More

The Rose Theater's 10/11 season sponsored by Children's Hospital & Medical Center sets the stage for FUN...lots and lots of unforgettable family fun that will take boys and girls of all ages by surprise.

A unicycle-riding dog? A misfit child who finds his voice? A boy who wakes up as flat as a pancake? Whether it's the kind of surprise that elicits laughter or the kind that leaves a child pondering new ideas, The Rose's 10/11 season is sure to deliver. With titles such as Pinkalicious-The Musical, Peter Pan-The Musical, The Sound of Music and The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, big applause is expected from parents and children alike.

Tickets for all 10/11 Rose shows (excluding Aspen Santa Fe Ballet's The Nutcracker) are available beginning Aug. 2nd through The Rose Box Office at 2001 Farnam Street, (402) 345-4849 or www.rosetheater.org. For most shows, discount ticket vouchers will also be available at that time for $13 each at Hy-Vee Food Stores.

For the best value, The Rose offers an $75 family membership that is available now through July 31, 2010. Beginning Aug. 1, 2010, the price will increase to $85 per family. Membership provides families with 28 free tickets (four tickets to each of the seven regular season shows) and discounts on the three premium event shows: Peter Pan-The Musical, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet's The Nutcracker, and The Sound of Music. Pinkalicious-The Musical

may warrant conversation before or after seeing the show.

The Sound of Music

With songs such as "Edelweiss" and "Do-Re-Mi," this final collaboration of Rodgers and
Hammerstein was destined to become the world's most beloved musical! When Maria is dispatched
from the convent to serve as governess to the seven children of the Von Trapp family, her arrival is met with resistance. But, Maria's soaring spirit and love for music is a winning combination that helps the family to unite as they face the threat of a Nazi occupied Austria. (Tickets: $20-$25)
