Opening to the public on Friday, March 27th (and continuing through April 19th) The Candy Project presents: GUTENBERG! THE MUSICAL!

In this inspired two-man musical spoof, a pair of aspiring playwrights perform a backers' audition for their new project - a big, splashy, factually spotty musical about printing press inventor Johann Gutenberg. With an unending supply of enthusiasm, Bud and Doug sing all the songs and play all the parts in their crass historical epic, with the hope that one of the producers in attendance will give them a Broadway contract - fulfilling their ill-advised dreams.

Randall Stevens directs the 2 person cast which features the award-winning talents Omaha favorites Dan Chevalier (Bud) and Steve Krambeck (Doug). Tim Vallier is the production's Music Director, Cathy Hirsch Produces and Devon Adams is Stage Manager.

Developed by Scott Brown and Anthony King at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in NYC, Off Broadway GUTENBERG! THE MUSICAL! garnered nominations for the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical, the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Musical; and its authors were nominated for the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Book of a Musical.

The musical is set for a 9-show run at the Pizza Shoppe Collective, located in the heart of downtown Benson (6056 Maple Street) March 27-29 & April 10-12, 17-19. All performances have a 7:30pm showtime.

Tickets ($18 adults, $15 Students and TAG members) are available for purchase at www.thecandyproject.com or can be reserved by calling (402) 957-2827 or emailing info@thecandyproject.com.
