The Rose Theater's Teens "N" Theater program will perform a special showing of Pride Players: Project 13 to benefit Omaha Pride Prom and other programs offered by area advocacy groups supporting gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered or straight teens, Saturday January 21.
Omaha advocacy groups PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays), Proud Horizons and GLSEN (The Gay, Lesbian, & Straight Education Network) thank the show for giving a boost to some of their most popular programs.
For the past seven years, these groups, along with other Gay Straight Alliances (GSAs) have joined together to organize Omaha's Pride Prom for LGBT youth who otherwise might not have a prom experience. Last year well over 300 youth from Nebraska and Iowa attending Pride Prom, making it one of the most successful LGBT youth events in the city.The show time is 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children, with special $10 tickets available for patrons on a limited income budget.
