Over 700 fashion fans turned up at the Omaha Design Center yesterday evening to support local cancer survivors. Every model on the runway was a cancer survivor! Several models traveled from other cities to participate with 140 of their peers ranging in age from three to 88!

Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Inner Beauty Salon at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center. Inner Beauty helps those undergoing treatment for various cancers and medical conditions in dealing with cosmetic issues related to their disease, such as hair loss or the need for prosthetics. Many of these items are not covered by insurance and Inner Beauty provides them free of charge.

Models for the evening were dressed by local boutiques: Younkers, SKYZ, All About Me, Bliss Boutique, Pretty In Patina, Posh Princess, Old Navy, Chicos, Mainstream Boutique, Dress Barn, NJ & Co. HUSH la Boutique, Christopher & Banks, Christian Nobel Furs.

Some highlights from the evening were a wife rushing to greet her 88 year old husband as he walked down the runway for a quick kiss and one of the youngest models rocking the runway on her walker with mom in tow. Check out photos below.

Over the past six years Omaha Fashion Week has been able to donate over $25,000 to Inner Beauty.

Thanks to all the sponsors who make the evening possible: SAC Federal Credit Union, Methodist Hosptial, Methodist Foundation, Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center, Borsheims, Pretty in Patina, Develop Model Management, Surface Hair Health Art, Metropolitan Community College, Huber Cadillac, Omaha Design Center, Pleasure Your Palate, MCL Construction, Bright Pink, Dr. Katie Honz, Jamie K. About Omaha Fashion Week

On the inside, Omaha Fashion Week is a talent incubator that seamlessly connects designers, stylists, photographers, artists and models through nurturing platforms and engaging opportunities. On the outside, Omaha Fashion Week is Midwest's premier fashion event, spotlighting fashion innovations and celebrating creative excellence.

Omaha Fashion Week is celebrating nine years in 2016! During that time, we've grown into the nation's fifth largest fashion event, supporting more independent fashion designers than any other organization in the region. Omaha Fashion Week is a glamorous red carpet event for a good cause. We nurture the youngest of fashion designers by providing mentoring, education opportunities, and a professional platform to showcase their work.
