Omaha Performing Arts presents The Iguanas sponsored by First National Bank. The eclectic New Orleans-based band performs Friday, May 17, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. in the 1200 CLUB.

Tickets for The Iguanas are $30 in advance and $35 day of show and are available online at TicketOmaha.com, by calling 402.345.0606 or at the Ticket Omaha office inside the Holland Performing Arts Center, 13th & Douglas streets.

The Iguanas' music reflects their home and their muse: New Orleans. The rhythms of the city's musical heritage - zydeco, blues and jazz mixed with R&B and Tex Mex - course through the band's songs.

The Iguanas began in 1989 when San Francisco guitarist Rod Hodges fused his newfound interest in the conjunto music of his mother's Mexican heritage with bassist René Coman's Crescent City sensibilities. Now based in New Orleans, the band also features Omaha-native Joe Cabral on saxophone and keyboards and Doug Garrison on percussion.
