MOULIN ROUGE! Comes To Lied Center for the Performing Arts In February 2025

The Lied Center for Performing Arts has announced that the first North American tour of Moulin Rouge! The Musical, winner of 10 Tony Awards including Best Musical, will play in Lincoln at the Lied Center. Performances run February 4 through February 16, 2025.

There are three ways to get tickets to Moulin Rouge:

  • Tickets are available immediately as part of Create Your Own Season packages. To subscribe, patrons are invited to choose any 5+ events from the season and save 20% off the full order. 

  • Starting Tuesday, June 11 at 11am, Moulin Rouge tickets are available as part of new 4-show Broadway packages that also include Back to the Future the Musical, Beetlejuice, and Disney's The Little Mermaid. This new option allows patrons to lock in the same seats to all four shows on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Sunday evenings.

  • Single show ticket information will be available later this summer.

Following the historic successes of The Phantom of the Opera in 2018 and Hamilton in 2023, this marks only the third time in the history of the Lied Center that a Broadway show will run for two full weeks of performances. This show that continues to be a smash hit on Broadway, and we have no doubt that it will thrill more Nebraska audiences than ever before! Moulin Rouge! The Musical is the winner of ten 2021 Tony Awards including Best Musical, two Drama League Awards including Outstanding Production of a Musical, five Drama Desk Awards and ten Outer Critics Circle Award Honor citations including New Broadway Musical. 

Moulin Rouge! The Musical opened to critical acclaim at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in the Summer of 2019 and reopened in September 2021 following the shutdown of Broadway due to the pandemic.

“Moulin Rouge! The Musical is a fabulous new musical. The high begins the instant you walk into the theatre,” said the New York Post. Entertainment Weekly concludes that “it's easy to believe that Moulin Rouge! The Musical could run for 50 years.”

Moulin Rouge! The Musical is directed by Tony Award winner Alex Timbers and with a book by Tony Award winner John Logan, choreography by Tony Award winner Sonya Tayeh and music supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Tony Award winner Justin Levine.

The design team for Moulin Rouge! Baz Luhrmann's iconic film comes to life onstage, remixed in a new musical mash-up extravaganza. Moulin Rouge! The Musical is a theatrical celebration of Truth, Beauty, Freedom, and - above all - Love. Moulin Rouge! The Musical is more than a musical; it is a state of mind.

As in the film, Moulin Rouge! The Musical celebrates over 160 years of music – from Offenbach to Lady Gaga. The stage musical features many of the iconic songs from the movie, and also includes recent hits released since the movie premiered 21 years ago.
