Jazz on the Green will present Incendio on Thursday, July 14 at Turner Park at Midtown Crossing. Admission is free and seating opens at 5 PM. Concert begins at 7 PM.
Incendio's style of Latin guitar-based world fusion is directly tied to its members' cultural interests and heritage. Guitarist Jean-Pierre Durand combines his Peruvian roots and affinity for Latin music with a rock 'n' roll sensibility. Liza Carbé's deceptively graceful bass playing, built on flamenco and classical traditions, grounds Jim Stubblefield's lightning-fingered, Middle Eastern-influenced fretwork. "Fire" in Italian and Spanish, Incendio is a fitting moniker for a group whose live performances ignite into feverish improvisatory journeys.
Arrive early for the best spots to catch the globe-spanning fusion music of Incendio. Blankets and chairs are welcome. Also, be sure to bring your favorite snacks and beverages. Beer, wine and champagne are allowed in Turner Park, but please don't bring hard liquor. Please keep all pets on a leash and remember to clean up after them.
