Omaha Performing Arts presents comedian Larry the Cable Guy at the Orpheum Theater Friday, November 15, 2013 at 7:00 and 9:30 p.m. The two performances are part of Omaha Performing Arts' 13/14 Season. Opening for Larry will be Reno Collier.

With his signature catchphrase, "Git-R-Done," Larry the Cable Guy is a multi-platinum recording artist, Grammy nominee, actor and one of the top comedians in the country. Larry the Cable Guy's humorous observations and celebration of the workingman keep fans coming back. Dressed in his trademark sleeveless flannel shirt, jeans and camouflage baseball cap, Larry jokes about everything from the Dollar Store to global warming.

Larry was born in Pawnee City, Neb. According to a CMT biography, Larry went to college at Baptist University of America and the University of Nebraska. He credits his roommates from Texas and Georgia for inspiring his imitation Southern accent. He dropped out his junior year after trying his hand at comedy. He started out in radio before moving on to stand-up. Aware of his roots, in 2009, he performed a thank you show to fans in the state for supporting him through the years. He offered $4 tickets to the show at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Neb., and 50,000 people attended.

Outside of stand-up comedy, Larry has been busy. He is the host of Only in America, now in its third season on the History Channel. He has starred in numerous films, including Delta Farce and was the voice of Mater in the Golden Globe winning animated feature film Cars and its sequels. He reunited with his co-stars of the highly successful concert Blue Collar Comedy Tour Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall for a tour in 2012 and the animated show Bounty Hunters for CMT, which premiered in the spring of 2013.

The "homegrown" comedian has a New York Times bestselling book, Git-R-Done, and numerous comedy albums and DVDs under his belt. Larry's comedy album The Right To Bare Arms earned a Grammy nomination, and he has won Billboard's 2005 Comedy Artist of the year and Comedy Album of the year. Larry has also received the Billboard Top Comedy Tour Award (2006). In 2006 and 2007, he was named to Forbes Celebrity 100, which ranks the hottest and most successful people in the entertainment industry.

Larry spends a lot of time giving back to the community. His philanthropic endeavors include creating The Git-R-Done Foundation, focusing on children's and veteran's causes. Through the foundation, Larry and his wife have donated more than $7 million to various charities.

A former P.E. teacher, West Virginia native Reno Collier endears himself to audiences with his humorous stories of his West Virginia cousins' mishaps, his Scottish heritage, unruly in-laws and alien abductions. Collier's was part of the TV show Blue Collar Comedy: The Next Generation and appeared in the feature film Witless Protection. He is a regular fixture on the Bob & Tom syndicated radio show and CMT, hosting various specials for the network. Collier can be heard during his weekly call-ins to the Blue Collar Comedy Channel on Sirius Satellite Radio.
