Bellevue Little Theatre, 203 W. Mission in Bellevue, will present the touching drama 'The Miracle Worker', opening tonight, Jan. 23 and running for three weekends, closing on Feb. 8. Curtain is at 7:30 pm on Friday and Saturday evenings, and 2 pm on Sunday afternoons. Reservations are strongly recommended and may be made by calling 402-291-1554 between the hours of 10 am and 4:30 pm Monday thru Saturday.
The performance on Feb. 1 will be signed for those who are hearing impaired. Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, and $9 for students, with valid ID.
Todd Uhrmacher will direct this production, with Robin Klusmire serving as producer. Kate Jorgensen is stage manager.
Joey Lorincz is in charge of set design, construction, and lighting design. Pam Matney is sound designer and sound technician. Kate Jorgensen and Todd Uhrmacher are gathering props, and Ibsen Costume Gallery is doing costumes.
Appearing as Helen Keller is Quinn Desjardins, and her teacher Annie Sullivan is being played by Amy Bahr.

'The Miracle Worker' is a powerful and moving drama which is based on the true story of teacher Annie Sullivan and her volatile relationship with blind and mute student Helen Keller. Helen is trapped in a silent world, unable to communicate with the outside world. She has been pampered and spoiled and is violent until her devoted teacher Annie reaches through the world of darkness and deafness and realizes that there is a beautiful mind and spirit to be rescued and nurtured. Annie finally breaks through to the child with the first wonderful word communicated between them----'water'.
