Bellevue Little Theatre Presents BEST OF FRIENDS

Bellevue Little Theatre, 203 W. Mission Ave., in Bellevue, will open the new year with the romantic comedy 'Best of Friends' , opening on Friday February 12 and running for three week-ends, closing on Sunday February 28. Performances will begin on Fri. and Sat. evenings at 7:30 pm and Sun. afternoons at 2:00 pm.

Reservations are recommended and may be made by calling the theatre at 402-291-1554 between the hours of 10 am and 4:30 pm Monday thru Saturday. Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors, and $10 for students with proper id. The play is not recommended for children.

The Class Act Thrift Shop next door to the BLT will be open before all performances. Find a treasure while you wait for the production to begin.


Emma Rasmussen is directing 'Best of Friends' with Pam Matney serving as producer and sound designer. Melinda Schwart is stage manager, Joey Lorincz is set designer and builder, Wayne Matney is lighting designer and technician, and Tim Barr is sound technician. Leah Skorupa-Mezger is costumer.

Featured in the cast are Marcus Benzel, Merril Connaught; Amanda Overfield, Lib Connaught; Catharine DeLuca, Kate Connaught; Janet Macklin, Josie Connaught; Alexander Hamilton, Felix Heckaday; Brian Witcher, Archer Connaught; Angela Fick, Daryl Stoddard; Melissa Jarecke, Hazel Dunn; Tom Steffes, Mr. Bledoe.

This play by James Elward, revolves around famed author and philanderer Archer Connaught and his family. The author deserted his wife and children years earlier, and the news of his death is a shock----but they are even more shocked when Archer returns to greet his family, accompanied by his new young fiance.

Archer hopes to marry his 'pretty young finance but before they can marry, he must secure a divorce from his wife Kate who throws in another complication----it seems she and Archer were never legally married.

The complications continue as family skeletons are exhumed, romance blossoms unexpectedly----and our hero comes to his senses. The generation gap between Archer and his intended becomes apparent, and he realizes the value of a good loyal wife....it's a fun story full of laughs and lessons learned.
