Auditions for The Diviners by Jim Leonard Jr. will be held at Sapulpa Community Theatre on March 12, 2011 at 2:00pm. The show is directed by Kathryn Hartney. Performance dates are April 29 - May 8.

"In a tiny Indiana town named Zion, mired in the depression, that which gives life takes it away. Buddy Layman is the town idiot, but a charming one. The rest of town meanders through the mundane - conversations about bicycle tires take half a day, you can't eat at the cafe until you've said your prayers, and youngsters learn to dance at the hands of those who've seen the world via US Army boot camp. "The Diviners" is a heart warming look at the struggles of rural people to make sense of a world turned upside down, people who resonate with questions of faith, divinity, and the power of nature."

Sapulpa Community Theatre is located at 124 S. Water St, Sapulpa, OK 74067. For more information, visit the theatre's official website or call (918) 227-2169

Sapulpa Community Theatre, Inc. had its humble beginnings back in 1978 when a small group of actors, led by John B. Clark and Wanda Lovelace, banded together as the Sapulpa Community Players. The principal goal was to produce shows as a fund-raising vehicle for local charities. Productions were staged on an ad hoc basis whenever and wherever a location, cast, and crew could be assembled.

We at Sapulpa Community Theatre feel that we have created a community asset in which all of Sapulpa can take great pride and we invite you to be part of the continuing dream. It is only through volunteers and the financial support of the community that the dream remains alive.
