MS. CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE PAGEANT Set for Nightingale Theater, 10/27

Fifth Annual Ms. Center of the Universe Pageant will take place for one night only on Saturday, October 27 at 8pm. Admission is $10 at the door or online at mcotu.brownpapertickets.com.

It began 4 years ago as a punk rock, poly-feminist, half-satirical underground beauty pageant where the most daring of Tulsa's women compete to see who will represent the soul of our city, its holy navel, the Center of the Universe. It has evolved into a yearly event that also highlights local businesses and raises money for local charities. It even provides cash and prizes for the contestants. That's right - unlike some paternalistic pageants who tell grown women how to spend their own darned money, our scholarships consist of cold, hard cash. Because we respect you.

This is an event created by women and for women. We'll let anyone watch, but not everyone can play. Who deserves to wear our tiara? Who is bold enough to know herself Supreme Center of All Existence? Or at least badass enough to give it a go, consequences be damned?
