Lyric Theatre, Oklahoma's leading professional theatre, continues its 2010 season with the most famous cult musical, Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show. From October 14th through October 30th, back by popular demand, in a brand new production, Lyric Theatre will present the live version of the spectacular cult classic film about the madcap adventures of sweethearts Brad Majors and Janet Weiss, as they meet the crazy Dr. Frank'n'Furter, the rippling Rocky, the vivacious Magenta and Frank's minion Riff Raff. Lyric's production of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show will be directed by Lyric's new Artistic Director, Michael Baron, choreographed by Lyric's Associate Artistic Director, Ashley Wells and musical direction by Brian Hamilton.

Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show was first created by writer/actor Richard O'Brien as a stage musical in 1973. The cinematic version starring Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon followed two years later and went on to become one of the most famous cult films of all time. This popularity has kept the live musical in almost continuous production in theatres around the world ever since. Oklahoma audiences are encouraged to get into the intended spirit of the show by dressing up and participating in all of the talk-back and extracurricular activities that make Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show such a wild theatrical experience. Audience participation packages will be available for purchase at the theatre. For each performance night, four lucky audience members will get the opportunity to join Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show cast on-stage for the "The Rocky Horror Ride", by sitting in a custom made ride car. Like all Lyric Theatre productions, Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show features a blend of talent both from New York and from Oklahoma. Coming in from New York are Russell Saylor (Off-Broadway, Hair, and Frankenstein: The Rock Opera) stars as Frank 'N' Furter, and Oklahoma born and raised, Lexi Windsor (The View From Here and The Anastasia Trials in the Court of Women as well as Lyric's Oklahoma!, Grease, Will Rogers Follies and Gypsy) as Columbia. Other Oklahoma natives include Matthew Alvin Brown (Lyric roles include Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors and Carmen Ghia in the Producers) performs as Brad, and Parish Mechling (Lyric roles include Anytime Annie in 42nd Street) gets down and dirty as Janet. The role of Rocky himself is played by Billy Noble (Lyric's High School Musical).

Also letting loose for Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show are cast members Alex Hall as Magenta, Sean Eckart as Riff Raff, Terry Master as the Narrator, and Stephen Hilton as Eddie/Dr. Scott. In addition, and a whole host of actors playing Transylvanians will lead the raunchy celebration that includes timeless numbers including "Sweet Transvestite", "Touch-A, Touch-A, Touch Me", and the rousing "Time Warp."

Tickets for Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show are $40. Performances times are Tuesday through Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and midnight.
