A TUNA CHRISTMAS

"If you like someone buy them roses...if you love someone buy them tickets to A TUNA CHRISTMAS."
- Austin American-Statesman

"The hilarity...never lets up."
- Village Voice

Oklahoma City-Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre (CityRep) presents the rollicking, two-man tour de force, A TUNA CHRISTMAS by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard. A TUNA CHRISTMAS is the sequel to the audience favorite GREATER TUNA, where we welcome beloved characters like Vera Carp and Aunt Pearl Burris, and meet several new ones-including Inita Goodwin and Helen Bedd, who wait tables and cover the drive-thru at the local Tastee Kreme. Radio OKKK news personalities Thurston Wheelis and Arles Struvie are there to reintroduce us to all the denizens in the third-smallest town in Texas.

Starring in the CityRep production are Oklahoma City and CityRep favorites Jonathan Beck Reed and Donald Jordan, both of whom have won awards and delighted audiences for previous incarnations of the Tuna, Texas characters. For the last two seasons we completely sold out the original run of the production, as well as added performances. Therefore we strongly urge theatregoers to reserve NOW for this production.

CityRep Artistic Associate Michael Jones directed the production, which will be restaged by CityRep Production Stage Manager Steve Emerson. Set Design is by Don Childs and Donald Jordan, Lighting Design by John Fowler, Costume Design by Jane Childs, additional Costume Design by Aaron Patrick Turner and Danielle Trebus, Sound Design by Will Burns, and Properties Design by Josh Cain.

A TUNA CHRISTMAS will play in the CitySpace Theatre at the Civic Center Music Hall at 201 N. Walker in downtown Oklahoma City. Previews begin on Friday, November 19 at 8:00 pm, with a matinee preview on Saturday, November 20 at 4:00 pm. The Opening Night is Saturday, November 20 at 8:00 pm and the production runs for sixteen performances through Sunday, December 12, closing with a 2pm Matinee performance on that day.

THE SANTALAND DIARIES

"A sardonic, merrily subversive tale...just the antidote to bright-eyed joy before too many shopping days have passed. Worth more than a photo album full of Santas!"
- NY Newsday

Oklahoma City-Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre (CityRep) presents the slyly subersive, THE SANTALAND DIARIES by David Sedaris, adapted by Joe Mantello. Mantello's adaptation of snap-witted American essayist David Sedaris' THE SANTALAND DIARIES is a true and humorous account of Sedaris' sting working as "Crumpet the Elf" in Macy's department shore during the busy holiday season. This one-man show recounts, in inglorious detail, Sedaris' uproarious misgivings and misadventures as only he can tell them. Last season's production of THE SANTALAND DIARIES completely sold out prior to opening, so CityRep encourages patrons to reserve their seats now.

Starring in the CityRep production once again is Shawn Churchman. Mr Churchman has previously played this role to audience and critical acclaim at Wichita's Stage One Theatre. Mr. Churchman is on the faculty of the School of Music Theatre at the University of Oklahoma. He has worked with CityRep previously, directing the CityRep hits LITTLE ME, THE BIG BANG and THE 39 STEPS. Mr. Churchman has performed off-Broadway, as a soloist at Lincoln Center and at Carnegie Hall, and at regional theatres across the country. He was a cast member of one of the first companies of FOREVER PLAID.

David Sedaris was first publicly recognized in 1992 when National Public Radio broadcast his essay "SantaLand Diaries". He published his first collection of essays and short stories, Barrel Fever, in 1994. Each of his five subsequent essay collections, Naked (1997), Holidays on Ice (1997), Me Talk Pretty One Day (2000), Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim (2004), and When You Are Engulfed in Flames (2008), have become New York Times Best Sellers. As of 2008, his books have collectively sold seven million copies.

CityRep Artistic Associate Michael Jones will direct the production. Set Design is by Josh Cain, Lighting Design is by John Fowler, Costume Design by Jeffrey Meek, Sound Design by Will Burns, and Properties Design by Josh Cain.

THE SANTALAND DIARIES will play in the CitySpace Theatre at the Civic Center Music Hall at 201 N. Walker in downtown Oklahoma City.
