Perhaps best known for roles as "Captain Jack Harkness" from "Doctor Who/Torchwood" and "Malcolm Merlyn" in the hit series "Arrow" and "Legends of Tomorrow," popular guest John Barrowman will make a triumphant return to Wizard World Comic Con Oklahoma City, October 28-29 at the Cox Convention Center. Barrowman will greet fans, sign autographs, pose for photo ops and conduct an interactive Q&A session during the pop culture extravaganza.
Having created "Harkness" in the first series of Russell T Davies's revamped "Doctor Who" for BBC TV, the character created such an impact that he was given his own spin off series, "Torchwood." His multi talents have also been seen on primetime Saturday night in the UK, presenting his own entertainment show "Tonight's The Night" on BBC1. The show, which helped ordinary people to fulfill their performing dreams, was a co production with John's Production Company, Barrowman Barker Productions. Three series have aired in the UK, and the format has been sold worldwide, with the show now playing in countries as diverse as Sweden and China.
Barrowman joins a celebrity roster in Oklahoma City that also includes Kate Beckinsale (Underworld, Van Helsing), Val Kilmer (Batman Forever, Top Gun), Jewel Staite ("Firefly," "Stargate: Atlantis"), the Clerks and Mallrats duo of Jason Mewes and Brian O'Halloran, Ray Park (Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace, X-Men), WWE Superstar The Undertaker, the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" foursome of James Marsters, Charisma Carpenter, Nicholas Brendon and Emma Caulfield and others.
While this marks the inaugural Wizard World event in Oklahoma City, Wizard World held three successful events in nearby Tulsa from 2014-2016.
Wizard World Comic Con Oklahoma City will also feature non-stop live entertainment, gaming, exclusive Q&A sessions with top celebrities, movie screenings hosted by stars and directors and more, hosted by media personality Kato Kaelin. Details to follow soon.
