Featuring some of this generation’s most highly anticipated performers, Tommie and Friends includes an array of talented young artists on the rise! Tommie, a musical artist now hailing from Philadelphia, describes this show as one of his most exciting performances yet. Wofford’s work, a mashup of r&b, hiphop, and singer-songwriter tunes, touches on topics such as racial injustice, urban culture, and the difficulties of inner city life. His songs explore themes of what it’s like to be a starving artist, how the pressures of society affect the youth, and how social injustice plagues our communities. Tommie, originally from Central Florida, is a student at University of the Arts. He began writing his first musical at fourteen years old, which provided him performances at the highly acclaimed Feinstein’s 54 Below. The show’s title reflects the community of artists the young songwriter has come in contact with this past year. The performers range from previous Broadway actors to social influencers and current students in the performing arts landscape. The lineup includes Oscar Williams, Nick Barron, Mason Olshavsky, Jacob Kent, Morgan Paige, and more! Maria Andreoli and EmmaLee Kidwell, an NYC based musical theater writing team, will also be included in this one night only variety show. Generally Gabriel, an actor and comedian best known for his appearances at 54 Below and comedy clubs across New York City, has been announced as the show’s opening comic. Complete with a star-studded cast of up and coming performers and songwriters, Tommie and Friends is a show you don’t want to miss! Tickets are available at www.chesleatableandstage.com.
