On Thursday, December 17 at 8 pm, the Danish Piano Trio
will make its US debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.
The Trio, comprised of longtime colleagues Lars Bjørnkjær, violin, Toke Møldrup, cello, and Katrine Gislinge, piano, has been commended for its "chamber music-making at a high international level".
The members of the Danish Piano Trio are all noted soloists in their own right. The Trio has already begun to make musical waves in Europe. Danish composer Bent Sørensen dedicated his Abgesänge to the ensemble, and the work receives its US premiere at Carnegie Hall alongside music by Felix Mendelssohn, Niels W. Gade, and the world premiere of American composer Geoffrey Gordon's cello sonata FATHOMS.
The performance, presented by Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra, is on Thursday, December 17 at 8:00 pm, at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, on West 57th Street and Seventh Avenue. Tickets are $20 and are available at Carnegie Hall's website, by calling 212-247-7800, or at the box office at 57th and Seventh. Student/Senior discount tickets are $10 and available in person at box office only.
