Do you need to speak Python from birth to get involved? Are you going to barf the next time you hear the phrase "AI-powered insights" without any further explanation? Is anyone even talking about why pie charts suck so hard?! If you've ever had these questions, you need the DATA SCIENCE SPECTACULAR, which is the ALL-TIME BEST one hour, one person comedy and circus-accented tour of data science IN THE WORLD. Join host Andrea Jones-Rooy, Ph.D. for a dazzling journey through the wild world of data science, as they demystify what's actually going on, explain once and for all what "deep learning" even means, and shares not just how you can get involved, but why data science NEEDS YOU! This show is a must-watch for anyone who's ever been curious about data science, ever wondered if they should be making more "data-driven" (ugh) decisions, or ever dared to utter the most dangerous question in the world: "What does the data say?" You'll leave with knowledge about data science, why that question is so dangerous, and how to use your newfound data science skills for good. Hopefully, you will also have a decent time. COVID SAFETY MEASURES: All attendees must have proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. IN ALIGNMENT WITH CDC GUIDELINES, FULL VACCINATION INCLUDES 2 WEEKS POST FINAL DOSE. If you do not have either of these pieces of information, we will not be able to admit you. Our front of house staff will issue a full refund for your ticket.Acceptable proof is one of:- Excelsior pass, offered by the State of New York here- A CDC Covid vaccination card- A clear photo of your CDC card which shows your name and date(s) of vaccination- Other electronic record of vaccination that includes name and date (e.g., some chain pharmacies have an app with this information) In all cases the name on the vaccination record must match that on your ID. All staff and performers will also be vaccinated. Because of that, once inside, and in line with CDC and New York State guidelines and regulations, social distancing and masking rules are no longer required.
