Additional stories which bridge Greece with America written by Eleni Drivas. Directed by Lyto Triandafyllidou, performances will run from April 8 to April 24th.
Sons and Daughters is a play based on real interviews from people who are asked to tell a story that sealed their fate. Their stories are associated with important historical events from modern Greece, but above all describe the constant search of everyday people’s happiness, beyond the major political and social changes in the recent history of the Greek State.
Eleven true stories which deal with Migration, World War II, the Occupation, the Civil War, the massive earthquake in Kefalonia in 1953, the construction of the Berlin Wall, the Junta and Greece in the years of the restoration of democracy. The production is enriched with real life stories of members of the Greek-American community in New York.
In this production, four actors and a violin compose familiar melodies and revive nostalgic images from the lives of previous generations. Through this musical and theatrical journey, the time intervals between generations and desires, struggles and passions of characters coincide with our search for happiness and prosperity.
