Long time Broadway producer Ray Gaspard (A Trip to Bountiful, A Steady Rain) will be showing his never-before-seen photography of the soul stars of the 1970s in an exhibition at local DUMBO favorite, Superfine, from July 9th to August 25th.
During his years as a college student at Columbia University, Ray Gaspard was a photographer for The Spectator and Time/Life. He also worked for Sly & the Family Stone and Stevie Wonder (among others). He took pictures of many of the biggest music stars of the late ‘60’s and early ‘70’s, including Bob Marley, Janis Joplin and Peter Tosh.
After leaving the music business he transitioned to the theatre industry where he was the founder of both the WestSide Arts Theatre and the Union Square Theatre.
He is currently a Broadway and West End producer.
